Riz Ahmed studied Politics and Philosophy at Oxford University before graduating with distinction from the Central School of Speech and Drama, in 2005. As 'Riz MC' his 2006 debut single 'The Post 9/11 Blues' caused controversy across TV and newspapers, and won huge online and radio support. Since then he has been been championed by BBC Radio 1, toured the USA and played shows from Fabric to the Royal Festival Hall with the likes of Massive Attack, Dizzee Rascal, and Mos Def. He has signed a record deal for his two singles ‘Radar’ and ‘People Like People’ with global dance innovators Crosstown Rebels. As an actor his screen credits include the multi award winning 'Road to Guantanamo', and 'Britz'. Forthcoming screen appearances include Sally Potter's next feature alongside Jude Law and Judy Dench, and the title role in 'Shifty' opposite Jason Flemyng and Daniel Mays, for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the 2008 BIFA Awards.
